The Government have officially began its two month summer recess today after a number of standing debates were concluded today.
In what was supposed to be a 10 hour day, today TD’s and Senators decided to finish four hours early this afternoon with a number of motions being swiftly moved through the Dail floor.
Although the day seemed rather pointless with only a handful of TDs and government officials’ showing up to conclude the term before their two month summer recess.
Amongst the topics on todays agenda was the debate on Legal Metrology (Measuring Instruments) Bill.
It is now understood the Dail will not recommence until September 20th meaning all standing government ministers will have a two month break.
