“Why was here in the first place” – Uproar after migrant charged with offence after posting video that he’d murder Irish children




People are absolutely outraged at what a migrant said on social media that has led him to being charged with an offence of hatred towards Irish people.
A man has been charged with an offence related to “hatred towards the Irish people” after allegedly posting a social media message about “slicing up” Irish babies, according to the Sunday World. Beniamin Petre, of no fixed abode, appeared before Judge Andrew Cody at Portlaoise District Court on Thursday, May 29, 2025, facing two charges.
Garda Mark Russell charged Mr. Petre with publishing “grossly offensive communication” on TikTok around May 24, 2025, in the Dublin area, involving statements about “slicing up Irish babies, kids and you” with intent to cause harm, as reported by the Sunday World. This charge falls under Section 4 (1) and (3) of the Harassment, Harmful Communications and Related Offences Act 2020.
Additionally, Mr. Petre was charged with engaging in threatening, abusive, and insulting words or behavior on May 24, 2025, in the Dublin area, with intent to breach the peace and demonstrating “hatred towards the people of Ireland,” according to the Sunday World. This charge relates to the Criminal Justice Act.
Judge Andrew Cody remanded Mr. Petre in custody to appear again via video link at Portlaoise District Court on June 5, 2025, the Sunday World reports.
