Will media and politicians go after Imams for what they preach in Irish Mosques as they have gone after Irish priest for extolling Catholic morality at Mass?

Preaching fundamental Catholic morality is now seemingly forbidden in Ireland, as we can see after the media hyped controversy surrounding a sermon by Fr. Sean Sheehy in Kerry.

We must now ask, will this same hysteria be stirred over what is being preached by other religions in Ireland, such as Islam.

The media promoted hysteria over a Catholic priest promoting Catholic moral teaching at a Catholic Mass in Listowel has led many to ask if Muslim Imams in the country are going to be monitored for, they are saying in Mosques every Friday in relation to homosexuality, transgenderism and abortion.

Others have been quick to point out however the same so-called “cry-bullies” in the media would not dare to attack Muslim clerics over their sermons because firstly, they are justifiably afraid of the real-life consequences of critiquing the “Religion of Peace” and secondly, Muslims rank high on their progressive victim totem pole making them somewhat immune to criticism.

Attacking Christianity, and Catholicism in particularly, is a safe, accepted and even encouraged pastime in modern Ireland, whether in the work canteen or the newsroom, it’s basically the safest, most basic opinion one can voice.

The media and political class that have rounded on Fr. Sheehy though have encountered something they are not used too, and it has left them reeling. The besieged priest has refused to bow to the baying mob and instead of backing down has actually doubled down.

Unlike his hirling senior, the Bishop of Kerry, who has bemused faithful Catholics, declaring that the fundamental moral precepts of Catholic faith as extolled by Fr. Sheehy as “not Christian” the fearless priest remains resolute in his defence of the faith.

The fear now is that this steadfast man of the faith may inspire others across the country who still believe in objective moral order.
