A 54-yr-old lady who was having trouble on Corrán Tuathail, County Kerry, has been rescued, reports RTE.
At around 4 p.m., the Valentia Coast Guard got a call, and a helicopter was dispatched to save the woman, who seemed to have a broken ankle.
Due to bad weather, the helicopter was forced to return to Tralee and was unable to complete the rescue, reports RTE.
An hour later, there was another effort at rescue, but “extreme difficulty” was encountered, according to a Valentia Coast Guard official.
After what was characterised as a difficult extraction, Kerry Mountain Rescue managed to safely remove the woman off the mountain at approximately 7 o’clock in the evening, reports RTE.
