
A woman is set to appear in court following a public order incident at a shopping centre in Co Westmeath earlier this week.
The woman, who is in her 50s, was arrested around 1pm on Wednesday, at the Golden Island Shopping Centre in Athlone after reportedly spraying two people with a deodorant canister, reports The Mirror.

Gardaí confirmed the arrest and said she was taken to a garda station in Westmeath. She has since been charged in connection with the incident and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí attended the scene of a public order incident in Athlone, Co. Westmeath on Wednesday, 11 March, at approximately 1pm,” reports The Mirror
“A female (aged in her 50s) was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in Co. Westmeath. The female has since been charged and is due to appear before court on a future date,” reports The Mirror.
