Gardaí in Cork have confirmed that a woman aged in her 50s has sadly died following a road traffic incident on Monday.
It is understood that the woman was struck by a lorry on Smith Street at approximately 3:50pm on Monday afternoon.
Gardaí say the woman was taken to Cork University Hospital, but she was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
They added that they are currently reviewing CCTV footage in the area and an investigation is currently ongoing.
