Police in the UK have confirmed that 40-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of a three-month-old baby in South London.
According to Sky News, the woman was arrested after emergency services were called to a house in the Croydon area of the city on Saturday afternoon.
It is understood that emergency services were called after the baby girl was unresponsive, however tragically she was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
Police investigating the incident say they are currently awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination in order to determine the cause of the infant’s death.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
