
A woman is due to appear in court charged in connection with an alleged assault that left a man fighting for his life in hospital, reports The Mirror.
On Saturday, Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene after an alleged attack on Lealand Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 at around 8am, which left a man in a life-threatening condition, reports The Mirror.
The man, aged in his 50s, is being treated at James Connolly Memorial Hospital, where his condition is described as critical,
A woman, aged in her 30s, was arrested and detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, reports The Mirror.
On Sunday, Gardaí confirmed the woman had been charged and is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Monday,
A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “The woman arrested in connection with this investigation has since been charged, She is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Monday, 23 February 2026 at 10.30am, Investigations are ongoing,” reports The Mirror.
Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward following the alleged assault,
A Garda spokesperson added: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an incident of alleged assault that occurred at Lealand Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, on Saturday, 21 February, at approximately 8am,” reports The Mirror.
They added: “Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact them. Anyone who was in the area of Lealand Road between 7:30am and 8:30am, and who may have any information about the incident, or dash cam footage, is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.
