Woman held at knifepoint has recovered

After being held at knifepoint in a horrifying carjacking, Sabrina Cence has recovered from her injuries. Cence, who is originally from Italy, is believed to work in a fast food restaurant in Longford.

The attack happened at a car park on Ballymahon Street around 5.55pm when Cence was confronted by two male thugs.

Cence was forced into the back of her car when the thugs drove out of Longford town with such speed. Gardai noticed the speeding car on the CCTV and began to pursue the car. The car ended up smashing into a ditch ten minutes into the incident.

Cence was rushed to Mullingar Hospital. She escaped with some cuts and bruises which were not life-threaten.  One of the thugs was also taking to Tullamore Hospital where the second man escaped by foot. I man is his 20s was arrested a short distance from the incident.

Witnesses are being asked to come forward in relation to the incident.
