A woman in her 40s was pronounced dead shortly after becoming ill while swimming in a hotel pool in Killarney, Co. Kerry.
The deceased, believed to be of Eastern European origin, was pulled from the water and rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
A post-mortem examination will determine the cause of the investigation, although Gardai are not treating the incident as suspicious at this point.
