Gardai in Co Cork have sadly confirmed that a woman has been killed and a man has been seriously injured following a road traffic collision this afternoon.
It is understood that the woman was killed and the man was taken to Cork University Hospital following a collision between a car and a lorry on the Bandon to Carhoon Road at approximately 1pm.
Gardai say the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and the man is currently in serious condition in hospital.
The added that the driver of the lorry was uninjured following the collision.
