Gardaí have confirmed that a woman was arrested in connection with the alleged assault of a child in Co Cork.
According to The Irish Sun newspaper, the woman aged in her 60s was arrested on Friday and was taken to Mayfield Garda Station for questioning.
However she was later released from custody without charge.
Gardaí say a file is currently being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and no further information will be released at this time.
