A woman on a waiting list for accommodation rejected a council house offered by Cork housing authorities, claiming she and her children suffered from seasickness.

It is reported that this woman in question lives in sheltered accommodation.

The house is a three storey property situated in Cobh, Co Cork.

Housing authorities have reported there are many other absurd reasons why individuals reject housing offers.

These are as follows; not enough garden space for a trampoline, no parking spaces and the fact that the neighbours had a barking dog.

Some houses have been rejected amid fears that certain neighbourhoods are unsafe for children, despite the neighbourhoods having been examined by authorities.,

Overall, it has been stated that 40% of all houses offered to those in need have been rejected.
