Woman rescued from the River Shannon in Limerick




Emergency services rescued a woman from the River Shannon in Limerick this afternoon.

Members of the public spotted the woman entering the water at around 4.30pm. A Garda and two passers-by rushed to help, assisted by firefighters, who were there within minutes of the alarm being raised.

The woman was pulled from the water and treated for hypothermia. She’s believed to be in good condition.
