The Israeli military has launched a large-scale offensive in the Gaza Strip after a rocket fired from the enclosed territory struck a house in the south of the country wounding seven.
The operation began with a large bombardment on Monday evening with the IAF striking over 100 Hamas targets in Gaza while civilians in Israel have been warned to be prepared in case of missile attack.
Israel has deployed the Iron Dome missile defence system around the Tel Aviv region which has seen sporadic missile attacks in recent weeks and thousands of troops have been deployed to the country’s border with Gaza.
In Gaza, Israeli media reports, Hamas along with Islamic Jihad and other paramilitary groups are preparing for a large-scale confrontation with the IDF.
