Woman stuns doctors after waking up from a coma after 27 years




A woman who has been in a coma for over 27 years has remarkably woken up for the first time.

According to The National newspaper, the woman Munira Abdulla is on the road to a remarkable recovery after waking up at a hospital in Germany.

Abdulla who has been treated at numerous hospitals in the UAE and Europe in recent years was left in the coma when she suffered a serious brain injury in a car crash in 1991.

The woman who was travelling with her 4-year-old son when they collided with a school bus is said to be recovering well at a hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Speaking to the paper, Ms Abdulla’s son Omar now 32, said that he has never given up hope on her pulling through saying that he always had a feeling that she would make it.

It is believed that Ms Abdulla’s recovery is moving at a fast pace as she is now able to answer questions and recite verses from the Quran.

However she will continue to need to treatment before her recovery is complete.
