Londoners are angry at police for “tackling violence against women” for telling women not to be out walking alone and to be in well-lit areas.
Police forces across the country say they are trying to better empower and protect women and girls who have spoken out against the daily threat from men.
This all comes after several high-profile cases of women being abducted, raped or murdered while walking somewhere.
But the government and police response to this national protest has often been criticized for focusing on how victims can prevent violence, rather than trying to stop the threat of violence in the first place.
