A number of meteorologists have now insisted that Ireland is in line to get a significant amount of heavy snowfall from tomorrow.
Along with one of Ireland’s leading meteorologists, Cathal Nolan, three more meteorologists have been posting on social media that Ireland will see “between 10 to 15 inches of snow” by Thursday evening.
Nolan, a qualified meteorologist, has practically begged Met Eireann to issue a status Red Weather Alert to particularly the east coast of Ireland which he says will see up to 15 inches (40 cm) of snow this week.
He claims that vast quantities of snow will fall by Thursday, which will disrupt road transport, public services, businesses and schools just like it did in 2010.
Fintan Maguire has also claimed that Ireland will receive “around a foot” of snow from Tuesday.
Meanwhile Met Eireann has officially declared a “severe weather warning” and are monitoring the situation with a red weather warning “likely” to be issued on Tuesday.
It’s believed that temperatures will dramatically drop from tonight with areas experiencing up to -5c in places and snow to start falling from the morning.
A yellow weather warning means people need to take extra care, an amber weather warning means people need to take action and a red weather warning means that both people’s lives are danger along with probable damage to properties.
We will be releasing weather updates as we receive them and will break news of official Met Eireann weather warnings when they happen.
