Brace yourselves!! The cold weather is set to be here for the long run, with overnight temperatures dropping to as low as minus 3 degrees in the North and West of the country.
Met Éireann forecaster John Eagleton spoke today informing the country that the cold spell is not just here for the weekend, it will last up until late next week: ”The weather is set to stay cold, not only for the weekend, but most of next week as well, with low daytime temperatures below freezing at night”
However, most of the country will experience a dry day today with sunny spells and occasional showers. Temperatures may reach as far up as 6 degrees before dropping drastically tonight.
The night is said to be ‘cold and frosty’ with lowest temperatures of zero to minus 3 degrees. Most of the night will be dry but scattered wintry showers will continue, especially western counties.
