The promised Spring does not seem to be here just yet, as Met Eireann has predicted a rather cold few days ahead.
Wintry showers and frost are in store for the weekend, and early next week.
Friday will remain relatively mild and dry, but miserable weather is set to take hold from Saturday on, as a band of showery rain moves eastwards across the country. There is a high likelihood of sleet showers, particularly over high ground.
A similar pattern of cold and blustery weather will remain until at least Tuesday.
