“Yes, I’ll allow it” – Martin gives Santy clearance to fly over Irish airspace on Christmas Eve

Santa Claus has received official approval to travel through Irish airspace on Christmas Eve after being granted clearance by the Taoiseach, reports The Mirror.

Children across Ireland are eagerly counting down the days until Santa Claus and his reindeer arrive, hoping to wake up on Christmas morning to find presents waiting beneath the tree, reports The Mirror.

Parents and carers can rest easy, as Taoiseach Micheál Martin has confirmed that he has made sure Santa has permission to fly over Ireland, reassuring families that there will be no issues with his Christmas Eve journey.

Fianna Fáil TD Aisling Dempsey said in the Dáil on Thursday: “On behalf of all the parents and carers and on behalf of all the children across Ireland, especially my own two at home in Meath, Liam and Hannah. We have had lots of special visitors and really important visitors to Ireland throughout 2025 but our most important one will arrive here on the 24th of December on Christmas Eve. I would like your personal assurances that our airspace will be clear for Santa for Rudolph and all of us reindeers to allow them to deliver all the well deserved presents for the boys and girls in County Meath and across Ireland,” reports The Mirror.

The Taoiseach replied: “I want to assure the deputy I had consultations with the Minister for Transport, Minister Darragh O’Brien and Seán Canney, and Santa has complete clearance in Irish airspace on that critical timeline that you’ve outlined and I think Liam and Hannah can rest assured that he will arrive on time, and with an abundance of toys and so forth, for the children of the nation,” reports The Mirror.
