Young family rescued off North Dublin coast after boat ends up on the rocks

A family has been saved off the coast of North Dublin, reports Breaking News.

On Friday, their powerboat broke down and wound up on the rocks near Lambay Island.

Together with the Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 116 and the Howth RNLI’s All-Weather Lifeboat, Skerries RNLI also responded to the site, reports Breaking News.

The family was unable to reach the island safely as they had abandoned the boat.

The safest course of action was to lift each member of the family onto the helicopter one at a time, according to Rescue 116’s winchman.

The family was brought to Dublin Airport, the home base of Rescue 116, reports Breaking News.
