An Irish woman has died after travelling to Turkey for treatment, reports the Independent.
It is reported that a young mother from the eastern part of the country has decided to undergo bariatric (weight loss) surgery.
She died earlier in the week, her cause of death still unknown.
A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said it was aware of the case and was ready to provide consular assistance, reports the Independent.
The woman, who worked as a nurse, had been living abroad for many years.
Tributes were paid after her death.
She was described as “such a lady” who had a “beautiful smile” and a “joyful laugh”, reports the Independent.
