Young man killed in crash in Galway on Christmas Eve is named as tributes pour in

A young man who died in a car crash on Christmas Eve in Galway was locally referred to as Jamie Barrett-Morley.

The 21-year-old from Monivea was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the R347 between Annagh Hill and Palm Tree Junction, near Ballyglunin in Tuam, in the early hours of 24 December.

Locals paid tribute to the Galway man, who is to be buried on Wednesday.

His funeral will take place on Wednesday 28 December, reports Galway Beo.

Tragically, Jamie was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Galway University Hospital for an autopsy.

Jamie was the beloved son of Elaine and Christopher and brother of sisters Alana, Emma, Lauren and Rebecca.

He will be dearly missed by his grandfather and nanny, the extended Barrett and Morley families, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors and friends.

Jamie will rest at his family home on Tuesday 27th December from 4-8pm. There will be a private transfer at 11.30am on Wednesday 28th December to Sacred Heart Church, Ryehill, Monivea for the Requiem Mass at 12.00pm.

Interment will take place in Tobair Padraig Cemetery, Ryehill, Monivea.

One person commented: “My deepest condolence on the very sad loss of your son and brother. May his gentle soul rest in God’s arms. No words can heal your hearts right now. But in time your memory’s of Jamie will bring some comfort. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this time. Rest in peace Jamie,” reports The Mirror.
