A man in his 40s who lost his life yesterday afternoon in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, during a weather-related event has been locally identified as Tommy Connors, reports RTE.
The incident occurred around 4.15pm. It is believed he may have fallen from a height at a private residence.
Social media has seen an outpouring of tributes in memory of Mr Connors, reports RTE.
His remains were taken to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course.
Emergency services and Gardaà responded to the scene, which was located at a property in Letterkenny, reports RTE.
A Garda spokesperson stated they are continuing their investigation, and the direction of the inquiry will be guided by the post-mortem results.
The spokesperson also noted that a file will be compiled for the coroner, reports RTE.
