The coming long weekend is set to be rather chilly, with no sign of Spring- or Summer-like weather anytime soon.

Friday night will be very cold, with temperatures sinking to -3 in places. Widespread frost is likely on Saturday morning.

Saturday itself will be the best day of the lot, with some sunshine breaking through in the afternoon, though there will be some showers along the west coast.

Sunday will begin cloudy, but it will become increasingly brighter as the clouds move away throughout the day.

Bank Holiday Monday is expected to be very wet, with strong westerly winds during the day. Temperatures for the latter part of the weekend will be somewhat milder than as of late, with the thermometer reaching 15C in places.
