Immediately after a Ukranian missile landed in Poland killing two civilians, Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky blamed Russia for the attack and called on NATO to take action.
“Hitting NATO territory with missiles. … This is a Russian missile attack on collective security! This is a really significant escalation. Action is needed,” Zelensky said in a video address Tuesday.
It can only be speculated if Zelensky truly believed it was a Russian attack or if he cynically used the accident in an attempt to draw NATO into the war on his country’s side, which effectively cause World War Three, but regardless commentators are calling for consequences for the comedian turned politician.
Zelensky has recklessly called for direct Western military intervention on a number of occasions, but this latest stunt has people demanding that the performer be reeled in before he manages to bring about global, nuclear war.
