The cutesy looking aliens from planet Zog will be back on the air thanks to RTE, via a new animation series broadcast on RTEjr.

However, this time around the pair will be animated cartoons as opposed to puppets, and have been bestowed with a pair of legs each.

Zig and Zag are twin brothers from planet Zog, and they first hit Irish TV screens way back in 1987. The new 26-episode animation series will see the pair crash landing on a suburban area of planet Earth, where they take permanent residency. No doubt the twins will become embroiled in a lot of zany situations from there on.

The first five episodes will be shown exclusively on the RTÉjr App from 10am on Tuesday, 1 March.

The show will then be broadcast each weekday at 5.45pm on the RTÉjr television channel, starting with a double bill on the same day.
