A German zookeeper has reportedly been taken to hospital in serious condition after having his face bitten by a camel.
According to reports in the German media the 54 year old zookeeper who was working at Perleberg zoo was seriously injured after the camel bit him whilst he was cleaning an enclosure.
It is understood that the man sustained serious lacerations following the attack and he was immediately rushed to hospital where he remains in serious condition.
Authorities investigating the incident say the zoo is currently closed during Covid-19 restrictions.
