The Deaprtment of Defence has come in for some strong criticism today after it was revealed that the former Irish Naval vessel Le Aisling, has been put up for sale for six times it’s original selling price.
The vessel which was sold at auction two months ago for €110,000 to a Dutch broker, is now being auctioned off in Holland as a fisheries patrol vessel for nearly €700,000.
The sale of the vessel which has been dubbed as an embarrassment by many opposition TDs comes after the state decided to sell the vessel in a quick fire sale just under two months ago.
