Nine people have so far lost their lives in some of the deadliest wildfires to hit California in recent times.
All the victims died in or around the northern Californian town of Paradise, where over 6,700 homes and business premises have been destroyed.
Two major fires remain out of control, and thousands of homes around the Los Angeles are under threat.
