There was good news for Michael Martin and Fianna Fáil over the weekend as a new opinion poll has revealed that the party currently has 11 point lead over Fine Gael.
The latest poll which will surely make for bad reading for Enda Kenny and his colleagues, was conducted by the Sunday Times over a week ago and it shows that the Irish public have growing confidence in Mr Martin’s party.
Although the poll was compiled just before the Garda whistleblower scandal, Fianna Fail are said to be at an all time high in the favourability rankings moving up 3 points to 32%.
However the poll is rather grimm news for the Fine Gael party as they have dropped a further 2 points, to 21%.
Meanwhile Sinn Féin are also growing in the popularity ranking as they have moved up 2 points to 19%.
