Denis Naughten has resigned as Minister for Communications, Climate Action and the Environment after a disastrous week that saw major controversy over the National Broadband Plan.
Naughten made a statement in the Dail this afternoon before he left the chamber.
He said that he met Taoiseach Leo Varadkar last night, and that it was clear from the meeting that the Taoiseach did not have confidence in him.
It doesn’t match with what Varadkar said this morning on Virgin Media One where he said he was happy with what Naughten had told him.
