Two alleged suicide bombers have claimed the lives of at least 13 people and severely injured at least 35 in Brussels this morning.
The first bomb went out in Brussels’ Airport where at least 13 people are reported dead and 35 have been severely injured.
The current scene is described as a “war scene”.
A second bomb exploded at a Metro station near the European Institution headquarters. It’s too early to determine fatalities in this bomb, Belgian officials say.
Before the bomb in the airport exploded, shots were fired and a male voice was heard shouting in Arabic.
The blasts at the airport and metro station occurred four days after the arrest in Brussels of a suspected participant in November militant attacks in Paris that killed 130 people.
Belgian police had been on alert for any reprisal action. More as we get it.
