Rory McIlroy may be on top of the world this morning after winning the Irish Open this past weekend, but the Hollywood man has shown true class after he revealed that he plans to donate all of his winnings to charity.
The Northern Irishman who came out on top at the K Club yesterday, said he couldn’t be happier after winning the coveted crown and that he planned to donate his cheque worth €650,000 to his charity the Rory Foundation.
The Pro Golfer told reporters: “I mean, we’ve already raised over half a million Euros going into today for the three chosen charities, and then all the winnings go towards that, as well, so we’ve broken the million Euro mark this week, which is absolutely incredible.”
“I don’t usually get emotional about golf or about wins, but this one, it means just a little bit more, because it’s not just for myself. It’s for a lot of other people. Yeah, it’s a day I’ll not forget for awhile.”
What a true Gentleman well done Rory.
