The price of sending a letter in Ireland and abroad has officially gone up from today onwards.
The much debated price increase which was agreed last month will see the cost of average stamp will being €1 in Ireland (up from 72 cent) and €1.35 for international postage (up from €1.10)
The figures which mark a 39% and 12% increase respectively, come as An Post say they are necessary to keep the company afloat.
