The Department of Foreign Affairs have issued an apology to passport applicants following a number of processing delays.
In a statement released this afternoon the department said they apologised to those who didn’t receive their passport on time.
The Department say the delays have come as a result of the increased number of passport applications combined with the ongoing problem of staff shortages.
Although the issuing of some passports have been delayed in recent weeks, the Department say almost 90% of 100,000 applications this year have been returned in the ten day waiting period.
