Gardai investigating the disappearance of missing Filipino woman Jastine Valdez, have confirmed that post-mortem examination results have found that the 24 year old died as a result of strangulation.

According to RTE News, officers investigating the case are satisfied that the examination results have uncovered the identity and the cause of death.

It is believed that Ms Valdez was killed within 45 minutes of her abduction on Saturday evening. Gardai also say they believe that Mark Hennessy may be the only suspect in the case.

They also say a note found in Mr Hennessy’s car directed them to the location of Ms Valdez’s body, which was found in gorseland in Puck’s Castle on Monday afternoon.

It is believed the note contained passages that expressed remorse over Ms Valdez’s killing.

Gardaí also say they are continuing with a murder investigation, but they believe the only suspect is now dead.

They added a file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court rather than the Central Criminal Court.
