Gardai say the results of a post-mortem examination will determine the course of an investigation into the death of a man aged in his 70s in Clondalkin

Gardaí in Dublin have confirmed that the results of a post-mortem examination will determine the course of an investigation into the death of 74 year old man who died over the weekend.

The investigation comes after the man named locally as Tony Timms, was found with serious injuries at his home in Clondalkin on Friday evening.

Gardaí say Mr Timms aged 74 passed away in hospital a short time following the incident.

According to RTÉ News, a 47 year old man was arrested in connection with the incident on Saturday evening, he is currently being detained at Lucan Garda Station.
