A 14 year old girl is currently in serious condition in hospital after a firework she was hold exploded in her hand.
According to RTÉ News, the young girl was rushed Cork University Hospital earlier this afternoon.
It is believed that the girl is currently undergoing emergency surgery after she lost a number of fingers on one of her hands.
The girl also suffered a number serious facial injuries.
The incident happened occurred at approximately 2.30pm this afternoon on Barrack Street in Cork city.
