Great news for Limerick this afternoon as 100 new jobs are announced





A new medical research and development company is due to be established in Limerick by Becton Dickinson and Company, bringing an additional 100 jobs to the area.

Becton Dickinson and Company, employ 600 people in Ireland in Dun Laoghaire and Drogheda, and 100 employees currently in Limerick.

 The worldwide company are involved in medical technology, diagnostics, medical research and health care management. 

The latest Research and Development centre of excellence is being established in Limerick as part of a €21 million investment. 

The firm will focus on product and software development, clinical research instrumentation, and prototype development. 

An expansion of the former Unigolf premises at Plassy technological park at Castletroy will be required for the current 100 employees in Limerick, and a further 100 workers as a result of today’s announcement.
