One of the most talked about Ministers in Ireland today, for the wrong reasons, Minister for Health 30-yr-old Simon Harris is said to be throwing his hat in the leadership ring and by de facto becoming Taoiseach of Ireland.
Harris came under unbelievable pressure recently after a RTE investigates documentary showed the true disaster that is the Irish waiting list nightmare.
Official figures of 81,000 were easily doubled to 161,000 in reality waiting for operations ranging from minor to extremely serious.
Now it seems, Enda Kenny is finally going to go and not only is Simon Coveney and Leo Varadkar lining up their ducks, the youngster Simon Harris also thinks he has what it takes to lead Fine Gael and be the accidental Taoiseach.
According to RTE, Harris is said to be getting pushed by Frances Fitzgerald to make a run. Fine Gael insiders say “he wants out of health”. We’ll wait and see.
