Heartbreaking: The mother of the youngest person killed in the Manchester Arena bombing has woken up today and was informed of her daughter’s tragic death

In a truly heartbreaking story the mother of the youngest person killed in the recent Manchester Arena bombing has woken up today and was told that her young daughter has sadly died as the result of her injuries she sustained in the horrific attack.

The woman at the centre of the tear-jerking story Lisa Roussos, was informed by doctors earlier today that her young daughter Saffie aged 8, has sadly passed away.

Although it was good news that Lisa has woken up from her induced coma the family say they are still devestated by Saffie’s tragic death must under two weeks ago.

The eight year from Leyland, Lancashire, was one of the 22 people killed at the Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena on 22 May.

She was there with her mother, Lisa, and older sister Ashlee Bromwich.

The news of Lisa’s improved condition was confirmed by a family friend in a post on Facebook group Leyland Memories, the family friend named Mike Swanny who said Mrs Roussos was now awake and out of surgery and added she was “fully aware of the situation”.

Mr Swanny also praised Saffie’s mother and father Andrew Roussos for their “strength” and “bravery”.

“They are all now together… Ashlee the eldest daughter is also out of danger and is talking to her mother,” he wrote.

“Now they can start to deal and rebuild their lives.”

Mr Swanny added: “I hope this news will make everyone smile as this is the best news we’ve had through this tragedy.”
