Global warming will be a major topic discussed at the World Economic Forum, in Davos Switzerland this year, with many world leaders seeking to isolate and pressure U.S President Donald Trump over his decision to remove the U.S from the Paris Climate Change Agreement.
The agreement placed the lion’s share of the financial burden of reducing carbon emissions on the U.S, while allowing other countries such as China, who are the world’s largest and fastest growing carbon producer to escape any serious repercussions for missing targets.
The agreement was attacked by President Trump during his election campaign, in which he promised to withdraw the United States, another promise which Trump has delivered on.
Ironically, while the world’s political and financial elite gather to lecture and pontificate to the people of the world about their carbon footprint, they will be arriving in Davos in over 1000 private jets.
