If you flat-pack your way through life, you may have traipsed up and down IKEA in Dublin a few times already. But if you live in Cork or its surrounding areas, the trip is a long and costly one indeed.
All that may be about to change, however, as Cork County Council has offered the furniture giant three possible sites around Co. Cork to open a brand new store down south.
The three locations on offer are understood to be Fitzgerald Army Barracks in Fermoy, and sites around Mitchelstown and Charleville.
If the project goes ahead, it would IKEA’s first store outside Dublin.
Stay tuned for updates.
