Individual yes campaigners have expressed concerns this evening that the feared “silent No vote” has emerged

A number of individual yes campaigners have expressed concern this evening that the large undecided vote did actually go to the polls and that historically in referendums, large chunks of undecided votes – when they do vote, tend to vote for the status quo, in this case being a No vote.

A further worry for yes campaign are reports that there was a very large morning turnout across the country, the largest morning turnout in a referendum so far.

Older people vote earlier in the day and in this referendum, they were largely seen as breaking for the No side.

The No campaign has again called for on their No vote supporters to go out and vote in the last 2 hours before polls close at 10pm.
