Irish Navy vessel LÉ James Joyce returns to Ireland after tour of duty in the Mediterranean

The Irish Navy vessel LÉ James Joyce returned to port in Haulbowline, Cork, earlier today, after completing a 12-week tour of duty in the Mediterranean Sea, where it rescued 2,600 people during humanitarian missions.

The crew were greeted by officials and family members.

The LÉ Samuel Beckett will now take station around the Mediterranean, to continue search and rescue missions.
