Ken Barrie the voice behind children’s TV classic Postman Pat has sadly passed away aged 83

There was some sad news announced earlier this afternoon as Ken Barrie, the voice of children’s TV favourite Postman Pat, has sadly passed away at the age of 83.

Mr Barrie, who was born Leslie Hulme in Stoke-on-Trent, is well known for providing the voice for Pat and many of the other characters in the animated series.

The talented voice over artist also famously sang the show’s theme tune, which was released as a single and spent 15 weeks in the top 75 of the British singles chary.

The news of his tragic passing was confirmed by his daughter Lorraine Hulme Peterson who said he died at his Buckinghamshire home after a short battle with cancer.
