Kenny recieves backlash after appointing former minister for health Dr James Reilly as deputy leader

There is a strong upset and a lot of angry faces within the Fine Gael party this morning after Taoiseach Enda Kenny shockingly reappointed former minister for health Dr James Reilly as deputy leader of the party.

The surprise appointment which was announced last has caused uproar within the party after Mr Kenny called a party meeting last night. One of many who are against the decision Louth TD Fergus Oā€™Dowd voiced his opinion by calling for ā€œnew leadershipā€ of Fine Gael.

Mr O’Dowd calls were supported by at least five other leading TD’s who heavily criticised Mr Kenny’s decision. With many labeling the decision as ridiculous given the fact Mr Kenny will not stand again in any future general election.
