A group of people on a popular Co Clare beach had a lucky escape this afternoon when a car drove down into a crowded area.
The terrifying incident which occurred in Kilkee, Co Clare seen amass group of people fleeing in desperation after the car came down the public steps just behind were they were sitting.
Gardai say the accident occurred at around 3pm when the car came down the steps located at the pier end of town.
According to locals the area is said to be the main spot for beach goers to sit and enjoy the view beside the beach.
Gardai say thankfully nobody was seriously injured in the incident and that an investigation is currently ongoing.
